Maybe about a month ago I had the pleasure of sitting with one of the owners of FAIM boutique here in Flint,Mi Marquitta Harris. We sat in the boutique filled with all unique limited edition fashion pieces.
Marquitta and I discussed our thoughts upon business and and community. That conversation alone made me more clear on making FAIM boutique March Business of the month.
She shared the fact that her and her sister Mejuana Harris (who is the other half of FAIM boutique) both believe in giving as well as they believe in Gods word which believe it or not makes all the difference. For the past few months I’ve noticed other people having listening parties and other events right downtown Flint at FAIM boutique and I’ve thought “That’s nice of them to do that”… Marquitta explained that it’s something they do because we all need help sometimes and her and her sister love seeing driven people from Flint trying to do something positive.

I’ve dedicated all my free time and some of my not so free time to supporting others by way of giving them a place to come share their talents and purposes. With an interview or review… I have offered advertisement opportunities so on and so forth. I don’t do these things because I want people to like me, I do these things because I LOVE talented purpose driven people and I think it’s important for everyone to know about what it is they love… I’m a supporter by nature… At this point in my life, I want to make this website more 3D… I’ve been planning, praying and working hard on a few events to help the people who I have done interviews with and even some I have not be exposed to the city of Flint and surrounding areas.. But I need your help!

Well I’m from Flint,Mi born and raised here… And we have ALOT of talent here. Working hard and pushing their purposes be it music, art, clothing, cosmetology! They werking!
I seem to see a lot of male artist and such but only one female artist sticks out here and that’s none other than Tiera Santoya.. I went to high school with her and I never knew she wanted to do music until after we graduated and she worked on a song with my homeboy Link a former rap artist. Since then she has grown as both a woman and a artist. Recently putting out a great single that shows said growth “Murda She Wrote” and performing at varies places around Michigan! Tiera Santoya is going to the best female artist in Flint, Mi. At this point work ethic wise she has no competition and if she does lyrically we haven’t seen them..
I personally am proud of Tiera for doing her thing and making things happen. Check out the single “Murda She wrote” https://soundcloud.com/moralemusic/tiera-santoya-murda-she-wrote
Tell us what you think! Support the grind
We all had people not like us right?
Sometimes there is a very good reason and other times not so much. However for some reason we tend to think that there is NEVER a good reason and we just slap a label on those people.. And it’s usually
But if we are completely honest with ourselves errybody ain’t hatin… Sometimes we are EXACTLY what they said we are and that’s just the way it is… That’s truth….. Errybody ain’t ya friend and ya know sometimes they hate but sometimes it’s you…
I’m one of those people who actually listen to what people have to say about me and see if they hating or if they really have an objective opinion. If they are hatin, God be with them. If they have an objective opinion I explore that.. I pray about it and ask God to work on that area. Not because I want to be their friend but because I have a want to be a better person all around. In doing this I’ve turned enemies to acquaintances and some into business buddies… I’m not telling you to go fix some bs or kiss some asses but I’m just saying you have to find understanding in some situations and be real with yourself…
Errybody ain’t hatin!
I can remember the first romantic thing someone did for me… It was on valentines day…
I was in High school and My valentine was away at college… Maybe forty five mins away from me but still away from me. I wondered how that day would end up. Or if that day would even turn out to be anything special. I found myself accepting the fact that valentines day due to our circumstances would be
Just another day
Not to mention he didn’t think of it as a big deal anyway.
I got to school that morning and as the day went on I saw other girls with bears as big as me. Balloons and flowers. Cards and candy… Because I had truly accepted the fact that my valentine wasn’t around I was happy for those girls I thought
Every woman deserves to be surprised on Valentines day
A little later my cousin Ashley came and got me out of class with a security guard and I’m like
Awww shit they done caught me skipping class!
When we got to the front of the school I looked up and my valentine had sent me pink flowers, a pink bear, a card, and some candy… I remember the card saying “Happy Valentines Day booder, I’m sorry I couldn’t be there but I wanted to do something for you”…. He had his best friend bring everything to my school… I think I might’ve cried but I was thee happiest girl in the world! He’d pulled off this surprise without even hinting anything to me ever!
That was an amazing moment .. It wasn’t because of the gifts, it was all about the thought behind it and gesture. I’d only seen things like that happen on TV, it hadn’t happened to me before and I honestly never expected it to…. But in that moment for that moment he was thee MAN. I don’t think he understood how much that meant to me back then.. I felt loved, thought of, appreciated, wanted…
Every good woman deserves moments like that!
Happy Valentines Day
I’m sitting here journaling. Journaling is a HUGE part of my writing process. It allows me to put all my thoughts on paper. It’s away to clear my mind and ease the overthinking that we
As I wrote in my journal I began to tell myself little things. Like little short sentences… “I may need more confidence”… I wrote some more and the. I thought ” I really have to stop talking and start doing”…
At that point my mind went to when I’d see people posting all these declarations on Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook.. And I said ” I’m going to write my own”… Nothing to overly long where the words explain the words and the punctuation that came before them but something short and simple to say to myself everyday. Why not share my declaration with my network?
I will be a more confident yet humble individual. I will be more of a doer and less of a sayer. I am becoming much more positive. I will continue to be supportive to those who surround me.
See short and very simple. Very much so to the point!
Mark 11:22-26 ESV
And Jesus answered them, “Have faith in God. Truly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ and does not doubt in his heart, but believes that what he says will come to pass, it will be done for him. Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours. [25-26] And whenever you stand praying, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
The definition of the term Loyal is :
giving or showing firm and constant support or allegiance to a person or institution.
“he remained loyal to the government”
synonyms: faithful, true, devoted; More
On a regular basis I see people questioning others loyalty or even claiming themselves to be loyal. All over social media and in their music or hear it in conversation…
To be honest it’s beginning to be annoying. I don’t care who you are at on point or another your loyalty to certain people or things will waver due to the curve balls that life sometimes throws your way… That failed friendship, relationship, job opportunity, class, etc didn’t workout because somewhere your allegiance or commitment wavered! And it may not have been solely all you as I stated before hand it can be the way life plays out… And then it may be solely because you dropped the ball for whatever reason… My point here is that
It’s getting annoying!
People will forever pick and choose what they want to commit to and if it’s not and/or your establishment, send them packing and move on. Because you too one day will have to walk away from something or someone you were once Loyal to…
That’s all I wanted to say lol

Earlier today I checked my email and it was a 28 year old African American woman that happens to be light skin, in my inbox… She was speaking her piece on this light skin v.s Dark skin thing that has been going on for years. And that has now made it to national TV…
I’m a 28 year old lighter toned African American woman an I’ve been seeing your blog through out my timelines and new feeds ( *fist pump*) …so I figured why not give you a different angle to write from or post from. I am personally tired of the whole light skin v.s dark skin thing. I fell like it has been blown up and taking way outta line… I like a few other people I know hate being punished for what the majority does.. It’s like I can’t even date a decent guy because they think I’m an average “Light skin long hair” female that’s going to brush him off or ignore ten text and be Johnny on the spot for the 11th one.. I see the post and I know they suppose to be jokes but they aren’t all truth! I usually text right back depending on what I’m REALLY doing. I’m not easy but you don’t have to move mountains for my attention if I want to give it to you…. I’ve been friends with the same two dark skin women who I love to death since I was in the 6th grade and the things ppl say light skin women do, THEY DO!… To make matters worse Oprah dedicates like shows to the “issue” and to me it just made it seem like we are
Devils with caramel complexions.. I’m not for it… And I think it’s ridiculous..
This is the first time I’ve ever got an opinion to my email like this… And for it to be a light skin woman upset about the light skin/ dark skin beef (which is almost as elaborate as the east coast/west coast beef if I do say so myself) it makes for interesting conversation…
