Maybe about a month ago I had the pleasure of sitting with one of the owners of FAIM boutique here in Flint,Mi Marquitta Harris. We sat in the boutique filled with all unique limited edition fashion pieces.
Marquitta and I discussed our thoughts upon business and and community. That conversation alone made me more clear on making FAIM boutique March Business of the month.
She shared the fact that her and her sister Mejuana Harris (who is the other half of FAIM boutique) both believe in giving as well as they believe in Gods word which believe it or not makes all the difference. For the past few months I’ve noticed other people having listening parties and other events right downtown Flint at FAIM boutique and I’ve thought “That’s nice of them to do that”… Marquitta explained that it’s something they do because we all need help sometimes and her and her sister love seeing driven people from Flint trying to do something positive.

I’ve dedicated all my free time and some of my not so free time to supporting others by way of giving them a place to come share their talents and purposes. With an interview or review… I have offered advertisement opportunities so on and so forth. I don’t do these things because I want people to like me, I do these things because I LOVE talented purpose driven people and I think it’s important for everyone to know about what it is they love… I’m a supporter by nature… At this point in my life, I want to make this website more 3D… I’ve been planning, praying and working hard on a few events to help the people who I have done interviews with and even some I have not be exposed to the city of Flint and surrounding areas.. But I need your help!

Well I’m from Flint,Mi born and raised here… And we have ALOT of talent here. Working hard and pushing their purposes be it music, art, clothing, cosmetology! They werking!
I seem to see a lot of male artist and such but only one female artist sticks out here and that’s none other than Tiera Santoya.. I went to high school with her and I never knew she wanted to do music until after we graduated and she worked on a song with my homeboy Link a former rap artist. Since then she has grown as both a woman and a artist. Recently putting out a great single that shows said growth “Murda She Wrote” and performing at varies places around Michigan! Tiera Santoya is going to the best female artist in Flint, Mi. At this point work ethic wise she has no competition and if she does lyrically we haven’t seen them..
I personally am proud of Tiera for doing her thing and making things happen. Check out the single “Murda She wrote” https://soundcloud.com/moralemusic/tiera-santoya-murda-she-wrote
Tell us what you think! Support the grind
We all had people not like us right?
Sometimes there is a very good reason and other times not so much. However for some reason we tend to think that there is NEVER a good reason and we just slap a label on those people.. And it’s usually
But if we are completely honest with ourselves errybody ain’t hatin… Sometimes we are EXACTLY what they said we are and that’s just the way it is… That’s truth….. Errybody ain’t ya friend and ya know sometimes they hate but sometimes it’s you…
I’m one of those people who actually listen to what people have to say about me and see if they hating or if they really have an objective opinion. If they are hatin, God be with them. If they have an objective opinion I explore that.. I pray about it and ask God to work on that area. Not because I want to be their friend but because I have a want to be a better person all around. In doing this I’ve turned enemies to acquaintances and some into business buddies… I’m not telling you to go fix some bs or kiss some asses but I’m just saying you have to find understanding in some situations and be real with yourself…
Errybody ain’t hatin!

So this song came along in my email a few days ago and it got my attention… To me it’s speaks to those who rebel against what people limit them to being able to do and make what they dream of happen. Anybody who knows me know I’m all about living your dream and living it like it’s the only option.. Not only that but it has a hood feel to it that I usually get from listening to a Rick Ross track… Check it out, let me know what you all think…

Today in the blink of an eye I made the decision to do a fitness challenge! One of my home girls from twitter (@_blahitskita) tweeted a challenge and said she was about to start because she doesn’t want to be
Well I wanna have a dope body. And I’ve already started changing my eating habits now it’s time to work… Once I saw her post the challenge I noticed the Instagram name of the woman who made the challenge ( @naomiparfait ) and reached out! She sent me the full photo with all thirty days on it.
There’s no better time thn the present so today I started the
30 day Guns,Buns, & Abs challenge
Go with me here
I’m sitting at my desk at work making calls and such as I usually do. Chugging down smart water… It’s a regular day in the life of Jordyn The PCC at Diplomat Specialty Pharmacy.. Then all of a sudden my phone began to vibrate and my first thought is
Who is this? My ppl know I’m here til at least 5:15pm on a good day!
I step away from my desk and notice that this is a title-less number
She don’t like answering title-less numbers ok? … This time I answer. As soon as I do there’s a young man on my line asked if I’m Jody. Once I say yes and before I could ask he tells me who he is ,what he does, and how I need to give him an interview because (He said and I quote)
What’s hot out in these streets
This kid was passionate!! I mean yo I barely got a word in… Once he finally stop talking and telling me how I need to get him interviewed, I got to talk! FINALLY!
I told him to send me his music and what he was looking to do via email. And when I say after we hung up he sent it within that next 15 to 30 minutes … I kid you NOT!..
We didn’t set up something right away I found him on Instagram and watched how he worked and seen what his demographic was. After I figured all that out it was no more time to wait so I hit up Symphani from Symphani.com and we made this happen, the interview had to take place…. Here it is! Check out the interview with Big Baby below:
Wednesday January 8,2014 I had the pleasure of going to the actual salon and getting my hair done. As some who follow my Instagram (ThatsMyJAM90) or Twitter (JodAyE_Dukes) know that I am the one who usually does my hair. I’ve often said I don’t believe in paying somebody to do something I can do myself… And that’s still true, however sometimes as a woman I want to be pampered and that’s definitely apart of being pampered…
I made an appointment with a member of Outreach 20:35 (Only the baddest glam squad/Outreach group in Flint). Her name is Tierra Bradford and she has a chair at one of Flints growing and thriving hair salons Hair 101…
I got there and it was like so mellow so chill. Truth be told I’d been there before but it had been a while my old faith nail tech Tatiana Hill works there. Anyways me and Tierra talked and laughed and she
Werked! (as she would say) on my hair. Dying my roots, reviving my ends color, washing, drying, and curling all of this heavy load of hair on my head! God bless her soul.. In the meantime in between time the Shops owner came in Lenisha Perry. Lenisha is a very cool very business woman. Lenisha, Tierra and I engaged in great meaningful conversation. Mainly touching the topic of business and networking. The conversation was a great one to have. It’s always amazing to see women come together and talk about something other than gossip ESPECIALLY the hair salon…
If you’re from Flint,Mi or simply visiting make an appointment or stop by Hair 101 the services they offer include:
Color and Cuts
Pink and whites
1235 Center Rd, Suite 14
I always hear people say or receive text that say “What’s good?” Or “What you got up?” Which is out generations way of asking “What’s your plans for the day/evening/night?”… Well soon and very soon there are some events that are taking place right here in Flint,Mi… Take a look!
